Sara Labbé holds a master’s degree in neuroscience from the University of Montreal and is currently completing her doctorate (Ph.D) in psychology at the University of Quebec in Montreal (UQAM). After doing research in the field of neuroscience, Sara is currently involved in research in health psychology. She is interested in doctor-patient communication among people living with a chronic disease. She is also interested in the effectiveness of motivational interviewing to promote behavioral changes (e.g. smoking cessation, physical exercise).
Sara completed her clinical training at the UQAM Psychological Services Center and at the Raymond-Dewar institute for hearing condition. She has an interest in evidence-based approaches and was trained according to the cognitive-behavioral approach. Depending on the client’s needs, she may also use acceptance therapy (third wave) and schema therapy. Sara practices with people aged 15 and over, living with various difficulties such as anxiety disorders, depression, obsessive compulsive disorder, burnout, relationship problems, grief, post-traumatic syndrome or communication difficulties.
